The Standing Room

When we first stepped foot into this raw 200 sq. ft. former shoe repair shop in the Lower East Side, we knew immediately that we should restore it to its glory days. The concept was to recreate a proper men’s tailor shop from the 1920’s, highlighting the original structure and details that still remained. It was of utmost importance that everything—from each surface to the lighting—be redone with period-correct pieces and finishes.
